TuWAS – Transformation hub for metal forming value chains in the powertrainy

Benefits for the target group:
The largely medium-sized companies in the massive forming sector often lack the capacities and expertise necessary for transformation. The transformation hub 'TuWAs' aims to enable these companies to transform themselves with individual support services in order to prosper in a sustainable and digital future with changed mobility, working and living environments. Participation in the project or the utilisation of TuWAs' range of services does not involve any financial outlay for interested companies.

Project partners:
Fraunhofer-Institut für Werkzeugmaschinen und Umformtechnik (IWU), Chemnitz
Heinz Nixdorf Institut (HNI) der Universität Paderborn, Paderborn
Labor für Massivumformung (LFM) der Fachhochschule Südwestfalen, Iserlohn
Lehrstuhl für Produktentwicklung und Leichtbau (LPL) der Technischen Universität München (TUM), München

Funding/Promoters: Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE); VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH

Funding no.: 16THB0007D

The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) on the basis of a resolution of the German Bundestag. Project sponsorship is provided by VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH within the framework of the Innovation Promotion Program.
