Validating a Strategy Questionnaire for Data Monetization

  • Many organizations struggle to identify suitable strategies for monetizing their data assets. To support strategic orientation, we developed a questionnaire-based tool that aligns business model characteristics with data monetization strategies. The tool integrates insights from academic literature, industry analysis, and expert interviews, and assigns one or more of twelve defined strategies to possible answer combinations. This workshop paper presents the underlying framework and invites critical feedback on strategy-question fit and questionnaire design. The goal is to assess whether the current version offers relevant strategic guidance and to identify areas for refinement.
