Development of a systematic approach to reduce scrap and rework in packaging process by increasing the process reliability using synergy of lean tools in a FMCG company

  • Global manufacturing firms are getting more and more complex due to increasing dynamic factors which are affecting their day-to-day operations. Urbanization in developing countries is one among the many reasons that has led to a shift in consumer demand patterns. Products are becoming more diversified which further affects the development and manufacturing cycles. Disruption in business models due to changing technological up fronts, growing consumer awareness, etc. are some of the dynamic factors that B2C companies are undergoing (MARTIN 2016, S. 20-60). A great deal of time, money and resources are utilized in order to gain a competitive ad-vantage in this unforeseen challenging environment. All these advancements correspond to a greater need to use resources more efficiently and effectively in conjunction with the disruptive transformations.
